As the science underlying medical decision making becomes
increasingly accurate and thus increasingly complex, the ability
for a single practitioner to retain all knowledge is no longer
practical. Decision support tools are used in many other scientific
fields but are as yet seldom used on a routine basis in medicine.
At MedStatStudio we beleive that both checklists and machine
learning decision support will become increasingly important.
As science and medicine progress, we are seeing the end of
the master craftsman. Checklists can serve as a great aid to
decision support, by preventing errors of incompetance.
